I am going to be in Seattle for two days and one night this upcoming weekend. We will be staying at the Grand Hyatt off of Pine. I know that Pike Place is only a few blocks away.

We are looking for places to eat. I'd prefer the local places instead of stuff like Ruth's Chris, which is in the hotel. Food wise--we like everything from seafood to Asian. Ideally, we're looking for cheap to moderately priced breakfast and lunch places. For dinner, we'd still have a modest budget, but if it is an absolutely must-eat place, we're willing to up the $$$.

Any suggestions are greatly appreciated. Thanks!

canlis is amazing, but quite pricey. everything about this place was top notch, including the view of lake union. the wagyu steak was the best steak ive ever had. i also tried some salmon and it was good, although you can probably get great seafood at any number of places. here is a link

as for lunch: ezells fried chicken on 23rd ave is a quality place for chicken, rice and rolls. also, i thought blue moon burgers near the space needle was good.

ive eaten at a couple places in pike place market and havent been that impressed. i cant steer you any better, but im sure there are many superior places in the area for asian and seafood.

and one of the best donuts i have ever had was an old fashioned at the whole foods on westlake. it was from a local donut shop and when i asked they said "mighty o donuts". i looked them up and they are way out near green lake. so, if you want an awesome donut one morning, id just head to whole foods downtown.

also, i hear seattle is big into health food. but from the above recs, its clear i know nothing of that.

Steelhead Diner on Pine. Get this sandwich:

If you want an awesome view of the city, go over to Salty's on Alki Beach in West Seattle. Good salmon also.

Is Wild Ginger still open? No, it's not a gentlemen's club. Bad *** seafood. I ate there on a business dinner, so I didn't pay for it...but it was so good that I would have gone there even if it was on my dime.

Etta's, down the street from Pike's Place. This is one of Tom Douglass' places. It is caual and affordable, but you will need a reservation. It is all about seafood here and the location is great for where you are staying.
