Seattle Hotel?

My folks are taking a cruise out of Seattle in September. I've been checking Expedia, Priceline, etc. to see if I can find a good deal on a 4* hotel. Any recs on an area, specific hotel or website deal? This is for my parents so they're interested in restaurants/attractions rather than nightlife.

Most of the major cruise lines will hook them up with a hotel if they want to go that way.

If they want to do it on their own... How much do they want to spend? I can vouch for three downtown hotels:

1. Hotel Andra. About 5 blocks up from Pike Place Market. It's a walk to almost anything of interest down by the waterfront or Market. Seattle Center (Space Needle, Experience Music) is closer though. Very nice boutique hotel but on the expensive side.

2. Hotel Monaco. On the other end of the Market area. More bang for the buck than Hotel Andra. And if they're here during baseball season, within easy walking distance of Safeco. Several good restaurants cllose by.

3. Grand Hyatt. It's a Hyatt, you kind of know what you're getting.
Between than Andra and Monaco when it comes to distance from everything downtown. It gives Monaco a run for it's money, price wise, but it's a standard hotel where Monaco has a little more character.

It's a real close tie between Andra and Monaco. They're both very nice hotels with different advantages and disadvantages.

When I went last year, I actually got a great deal at the W. Just looked on their website. It was cheaper than the other big hotels downtown and in a great location.

It was basicaly next to the very new, very cool public library. Just a few blocks east of Puget Sound. We walked to Safeco and Pike's Place Market. Very short walk to the monorail that takes you to the Space Needle and EMP. Hell, the walk to Capital Hill was easy. I loved the location.

I stayed at the Sheraton downtown a few years ago and remember it being quite nice and having a great central location. It also has great views from the upper floors across the sound. No idea on the price though.
