I just bought a new smoker and need some tips on the proper way to season it the first time.

Pigs feet.

Start a fire, get it going, then throw some pigs feet on the grill. Let it go for a while, then drag those mofos all across the grill surface. That'll get it plenty seasoned.

Get a spray bottle (HD sells 'em for like 89 cents), and spray vegetable oil over every single inside surface. Coat it down good. Once you've done that, light a small fire - burn it at something like 200 degrees for a while - maybe 30 minutes. Then, ramp the fire up to a blaze - if you can get it over 300 or 350 in the smoke chamber, awesome. Once you get it that hot, just let it burn itself out. That'll be enough time to really heat and season the metal.

Then cook something, post pictures, and bring the leftovers to my house

It's not rocket surgery. Just cook something in it that you don't really want to eat that bad. If it is a combo smoker/griller cook some burgers and you are good to go.
