Season a smoker?

I recently purchased an Oklahoma Joe's Longhorn smoker and I am excited to get into the world of smokin' some Q. I understand that I need to season the smoker unit before the first smoke

Any advice?

Just rub the interior with some cooking oil and build a very hot fire inside. Let it burn out and you are good to go.
