Scout Inc.: 15 Freshman to Watch - Class of 2012

I'd find it absolutely unbelievable at this point if Zach Peters went somewhere other than Texas.

I don't see anyone else in there that I think Texas is in as good a shape as they are with Peters, though.

I also don't think a whole lot of that list. They have two players from Texas in there, and neither one of them is Isiah Austin out of Mansfield.

Here's a blurb from the Dallas Morning News that I found explaining his situation...

Zach, who was ranked 16th last year as a 2011, is repeating eighth grade, which he successfully completed last year at Plano's Prestonwood Christian Academy.

Zach suffered a dislocated hip in a Jet Ski accident during a family summer vacation in Cancun. That was the impetus for holding him back, says his father, Tim, chief executive officer of a high-tech firm that specializes in artificial intelligence. It wasn't until last month that Zach could resume his daily basketball workout routine.

Zach is being home schooled this year under the supervision of tutors. On the curriculum this spring is a trip to Europe to study world history. Next year, he is scheduled to return to Prestonwood Christian as a ninth-grader.

Thanks Lester. Very professional journalism by Scouts inc.

The kids I have seen and made an impression are
DaJuan Coleman
Justin Anderson, looks like UNC but if Kevin gets in his ear who knows ?
Brandon Ashley
I. Austin

And the kid that is tearing it up playing 2 up age group and who may develop better then his brother is Issac Hamilton, Jordan's 6'4 brother in 8th grade. Handles with both hands and has a great looking J to the ARC and is a player.
That kid from Bryan ,Reese is good .

Reese's dad is the HC at Bryan and probably a finalist for the Duncanville job. Very good player. I think he was all-state this year as a freshman.

LJ Rose doesn't need to be on a list of top 10 freshmen in the state of TX. Way too slow. Good skills and a very solid player but he's not top 15 in the nation. His dad ran track at UH I think.

The Village School in Houston has some VERY good freshmen. It's a 1st year school that had nothing but freshmen, but played a varsity schedule and actually did very well. I wouldn't be surprised if we get involved with some of their guys.

I was under the impression that a student has five years of eligibility to complete high school that starts with the student's eighth grade season. If that is the case, this guy will only have three years of high school eligibility if he repeats the eighth grade. Can anyone clarify?

I got a little "inside" info on the number 5 player on that list out of Bryan, J-Mych Reese.

I live in B-CS and work near Bryan High and have seen his dad's car with a shiny longhorn emblem on the back. Not exactly a commitment but it's a good start.

Also my brother-in-law is a principal at BISD and said that Rick Barnes was at Bryan High today and that dad wants Texas. Also said the rumor around school is that he is going to commit to Texas before next basketball season. (Sophmore year)

Now my brother in law is an aggy so he may just be getting my hopes up to watch them come crashing down.
So take that for what it's worth.
