Scott just didn't want to compete

I think it was as simple as that. Think about it. Here's a guy from the L.A. area, who likes warm weather, why not USC? According to him, because they had too many running backs so he crossed them off his list. If he's as good as advertised, he shouldn't be afraid of a little comp. Joe Mcknight wasn't, neither was Mitch Mustain. When did UT move to the top of his list? When Jamaal announced he was leaving. It was only then that Scott "honored" us by telling everybody we've move to the top of his list. Bottom line is Scott wants to play, but Scott doesn't want to compete for playing time. He's afraid of competition. I think Mack and Major fell short of guaranteeing him a starting job, but I'll bet the CU coaching staff promised this kid the world, f**k everybody else on the team. They probably guaranteed him a starting spot, promised not to recruit any more top backs for 2 or 3 years and promised to build an offense around him. They don't have to cheat, they just have to kiss the boy's (and his mama's) butt better than Mack. Some of these prima donnas want you to grovel or as they say, "show some love", or else. We've got guys who want to be at Texas, who look upon it as an honor to play here.

You have no idea on this.

First, CU did sign another 4* RB, along with a 2* in this class. On top of that, Hawk has said that he would never guarantee anything....too many ifs in this business.

If you don't like it, don't click on it.

Pete, I will click on and comment about whatever I please. You have no problem disagreeing with CU fans on the various other DS threads. I am disagreeing with the nature of the original post, which is pure speculation and makes our fan base look like a bunch of whiny *******(hence the Texags comparison)

If our coaching staff didn't think DS had character and the desire to compete, they wouldn't have recruited him as hard as they did all they way up to the end. The original poster makes some pretty bold comments and speculates about things he knows nothing about. Its every bit as possible that Scott saw pros and cons in both programs (hence his wavering between the 2 programs) and ultimately decided to go to a program on the rise and try to make his mark there. Calling him out as a person that is afraid of competition is BS in my opinion, but thats the kind of thing that the anonymity of the internet allows for.

As pissed as I am about this situation, Mr. Orange is 100% spot on. HOWEVER, Scott's avoidance of USC before this went down, did cause me to raise my eyebrow.

The truth of the matter is that USC has like about 30,000 RB's it seems like and it's one thing to have to face competition from a couple of guys and another to have a logjam of competition.
