Scott Frost, we hardly knew ye...

They gave him four years and they were all losing seasons. If he hadn't been one of their own he'd have been gone in year three. I understand Nebraska's need to cut bait and move on but i feel badly for Scott, no one wanted to return NU to their glory days more than he did. I don't think those days will return any time soon for that program. They've never been the same since they lost the whole walk on / partial qualifier thing.

when they hired Frost I thought crap Nebraska is going to dominate again cause if I remember right he had an undefeated season at central florida(?). glad he tanked out cause I didn'twant him poaching tx athletes.

At this point who among those could think there is greater potential than where they are.
I think NU needs to look among FBS coaches

I could be wrong, but I don't see a successful coach at a mid-tier program like Matt Campbell going to Nebraska.

The pressure is intense, the recruiting base limited, you play in a tough Big Ten conference with an uphill climb to win it.

It's been so long since they've been good (late 90's), and so many failed coaches since then, there's little in the way of an aura of success there anymore.

Someone like Campbell you'd think would wait out a chance at a program that may have had 3-4 years of non-successful years, but not one that needed a whole repair job for the last 25 years.

I'd guess they end up going with a coach who's either doing decent at some bottom tier school like Kansas, or Division II, who's ready to make the move plus be set for life via 2-4 million per year for 5 years guanteeded.

I agree. Leipold at KU came out of successful years at Divlll and then Dll.
Maybe that is where they should look. Or there is always Les Miles HuskerHornDad nailed it
No One wanted more to succeed and No One wanted him to succeed more.
If he couldn't get it done what changes could occur so anyone else can?

Not that I think that Nebraska will ever "be back", but they should look at the guy at Sam Houston State. He's in the playoffs every year, won it once. He's not from Texas, and that may or may not help. He can't do worse.

Rest assured that Trev wants to make a splash, so he'll go after a "hot name" and probably fail again.

Given their consistent history of concern for ethics, the solution to their coaching problem should be obvious. There is a proven winner out there just itching to get back in the game------ART BRILES

the move to the Big 10 was a mistake when made-----couple that with the loss of the wonderful walkon program and you have all the makings of a disaster. They can't back out now and have no place to go without a huge loss of face. As their fanbase ages and fewer people are around to remember the glory days they pain will abate.
