I rank (what is available lately)

1. Lagavulin
2. Ardbeg 10
3. Ardbeg Uigeadail
4. Bruichladdich Port Charlotte
5. Laphroaig 10
6. ?

I understand E150a.

Just the Islay expressions please.

I know that Orangeblood and Sangre Naranjada are fans of Scotch and know a thing or two about them. Hopefully they will see this thread. I think Sangre roots for the Aggies now so he may be on that forum. *ducking*

Lagavulin is my favorite since the Ardbeg 16 went out of production. The Ardbeg 10 just doesn't do it for me. My regular scotch now is the Laphroaig 1/4 cask. It's only $3 - $5 more than the Laphroaig 10.

Check out the Bowmore or Caol Ila. Not as complex as Lagavulin or Laphroig but not bad for the money.

I've not tried the Bruichladdich Port Charlotte. I'll take a look for it on my next trip.

BTW, the Ardbeg 16 is what got Sangre started on scotch.

This post was made just before going to the new 2015 platform. Post as normal after it if you wish.

Re: SCOTCH, ISLAY

Thanks for the replys. I have moved waay back the Ardbeg 10 since getting on Flonase. The Port Charlotte, young as it is, is moving in a good direction and most betters than the Ard 10. It's gots lots of cinnamon kick but very much less medicinal. Frog 10 moves up.

Blugh.

Re: SCOTCH, ISLAY

Of the bottles that I still have some Islay whisky in, here's my rank:

1. Lagavulin - Distiller's Edition 1988 (double matured)
2. Ardbeg - 17
3. Lagavulin - 16
4. Bowmore - 15 (Mariner's Edition)

As I can't stand Laphroig, you'll never see a bottle in my house.
