That's crazy. Not cloning, not breeding, not dna modification, but straight up writing a genetic sequence and creating a bacterium that can reproduce. It is very very scary to think of what this could lead to. I immediately think of creating a super virus or super bacteria that can be programmed to kill and spread as fast as possible. On the other hand, you could create super white blood cells that overcome the flaws in our own white blood cells, either by acting faster or being able to defeat AIDS viruses or cancer.
