Me: " Actually, no, I don't think I have. "

Student: "Cause, my parent's say that's where the magic happens."

Me: "Ha ha... I'm sure it does..."

A few minutes pass...

Student:" Mrs. Smurfy... You know what magic means, don't you?"

Me. Sigh.....

I can't believe your students say these things, times have changed since I was in school. I don't know how you keep a straight face.

I thought that it meant they think the light being on or left on for them is magic. Also, that Tom Wopat or whatever his name is, is a Magic Man. Try to understand he's the magic man, momma.

Smurf, we stayed in a Motel 6 in Atlanta for your friend's wedding. We had a 2-week old cat with us (long story) who ended up falling down into the tucked sheets and sleeping there. We thought housekeeping took her.

Another one from this morning...

Student: "Hey Miss, have you ever heard this song?" Holds earphones up to my ear

(song starts playing. You hear a guy say, "Hey, you got any black in you? ..... You want some?")

Me: "Um, no, I've never heard that song, and I don't think it's appropriate for school."

Kid: "What do you mean? He's just asking if you want any black in you."

Me: "Um, are you serious?"

Kid: "yeah, I mean, I know you don't have any black in you, you're too white. But I thought you'd think it was funny that he was asking if you did."

Me.
