It's $26.95 a month but I think that's only for the first 12 months and then it goes up to close to $40. Has anybody had any success keeping it at $26.95 by threatening to switch or disconnect?
they told me when i signed up that it is $26.95 for the first year. after that, if you choose to pay month to month, it is $40, if you do another contract it is $26.95 or the same price you were doing before. at least i think that is what they said.
Wow, that's good to know. I thought I was going to have to pay $40 in January when my year is up. I've had virtually no problems so will gladly sign a contract to keep the same monthly charge.
I just recently renewed my contract by a year for the same $26.95/mo I was paying. They started sending me emails and letters a few months before my contract ended offering higher speeds for $36 per month so I just waited them out. Eventually my gf, who also had SBC, but who was paying $29.95/mo got a letter to renew for $26.95/mo. I followed her link instead of the one in my letter and renewed online for $26.95/mo. Eventually I would have called and asked for her deal or threatened to change providers but it never came down to that. My gf tells me that people at her work just threatened to leave and were given the same deal they had originally.
They told me when I signed up a few months back to just cancel my account and re-sign up since I have everything already it wouldn't cost anything extra and I could continue at 27.
WSJ reports that beginning Nov. 1st SBC will begin offering DSL for $19.99 to new customers who commit to a one-year term and also subscribe to their SBC unlimited local- and long distance-calling plan for $48.95 a month.
SBC recently announced that it will offer its broadband subscribers Wi-Fi service for $1.99 a month. The new DSL offer will include the Wi-Fi service for no charge until April of next year.
My cost of $26.95 for SBC DSL service just went up from $26.95 to $49.95 after expiration of my 1 year contract. I received no notification or offer from SBC. Where do you contract SBC (phone number or internat site) to renew the 1 year contract at the lower rate?
