Saw 'Watchmen'

A comic book nerd friend of mine dragged me to the midnight showing last night. I had no idea who the Watchmen are and knew nothing of the backstory or characters.

With that said, it was still entertaining. Awful dialogue. Lots of cheesy parts, but still a bunch of cool scenes and violence/gore. And Malin Akerman is hot. And naked.

Anyone seen it yet? Anyone who is a fan of the graphic novel? I'm curious to see what the fanboys think about this one and how it stacks up to the comic, since I went in blind.

Rohrschach is played by Jackie Earle Haley. I know this because he lives in SA and is related to one of my oldest and bestest friends, (by marriage).

Haven't seen it yet, but definitely will.

I just got back. It's long, really long. The first hour and a half or so almost put me to sleep. The last hour was great.

I just read the graphic novel recently and thought it was good stuff. Not sure if I'll see the movie.

It was long but good. Not as entertaining as Dark Knight but the story line was better. I also thought the soundtrack was very Scorsese like.

I did not enjoy it at all. Very slow plot development and way too long. I did not hate the last 30 minutes though.

I thought it was a terrific movie. I'm not a comic reader at all, but I picked up the graphic novel beforehand and blew through before seeing the movie.

This isn't Iron Man, which was great, but that's was an awesome fun summer movie with some great actors. I actually think Watchmen is better than The Dark Knight. Dark Knight peacocked itself as an intellectual comic movie. Well, TDK was good and had better acting performances (HL was amazing), but Watchmen succeeds in the thinking movie regard.

Rorschach was great.
