IMO, Vera Farmiga elevates everything she's in, much as Nicole Kidman does.

And there was some scary stuff.

But, honestly, I chuckled at other things (the cliches and over dramatizations) almost as often as I jumped.

Overall, I think I could have spent my movie movie better tonight ....except there wasn't anything else playing at our local megaplex that I wanted to see.

It was okay. I have not gone to see a horror flick in a theatre in years. They all look better in previews and after the first 30 minutes of mystery, the plot is revealed and the yawning begins.

Conjuring at least had the patented gotcha's. I agree it was entertaining, and better than most horror flicks out in years, but lacked much as well.
