My dear wife was babysitting our grandkids, but I'll make sure she gets to see it later.

'Cause she'll like it too.

The Link

It's the best movie I've seen in awhile.

If I were the Academy's only voter, this offbeat romantic comedy/relationship flick would win in about every category for which it's nominated

I enjoyed Jennifer Lawrence as 17 year old Ree Dolly in "Winter's Bone," thought she was well-cast as Katniss Everdeen in "The Hunger Games" and here she is very good as a twenty something woman with a past, looking for a future, in ""Silver Linings Playbook."

She plays a tough, loony, pushy, kooky, admittedly slutty (those are her good qualities) young widow named Tiffany who needs a dance partner that's willing to participate in a big contest.

She's nominated for Best Actress.

Bradley Cooper plays Pat, a socially troubled, sometimes properly medicated, sometimes barely self controlled, psychotic who now owes Tiffany a big favor.

Guess what she wants him to do!

He's nominated as Best Actor.

Robert De Niro and Jacki Weaver play Pat's parents and they're both in the running for Best Supporting statuettes.

This is the first time in decades that one film has its thespians nominated by the Academy for all four of its acting Oscars.

Plus the film is up for Best Picture and David O. Russell, who wrote the adapted screenplay and directed, is nominated in both those categories.

The best synopsis I've seen says: "A tenderhearted tale about two terribly wounded souls who survive by grudgingly leaning on each other's shoulder."

And there's also a delightful subplot about following the NFL with a vengeance.

It's a deliciously dysfunctional, highly entertaining, quite touching and very surprisingly funny journey over a rocky road that might or might not lead to a silver lining.

Jennifer Lawrence shakes and shimmys in white dance tights with some good music playing.

Excelsior!!!!

If you enjoyed "The Fighter" and/or "(500) Days of Summer," check this one out.

I think it really delivers.

Or just go see it with a significant other, if it sounds interesting, and thank me later.

Your thoughts?
