If you appreciate and enjoy violent and dark, but cogent, drama/action/horror crime thrillers featuring interesting, watchable acting such as "Pulp Fiction," "Kill Bill," "Inglourious Basterds " and "Funny Games," maybe you should give "Stuck" or "Red State" a try.
Mena Suvari becomes increasly trapped and finally self-destructs in "Stuck," while Michael Parks, Melissa Leo and John Goodman help propel "Red State" making both these upsetting flicks into plausible, and actually possible, American horror stories.
Of course, this realistic film genre isn't for everyone, but I thought all the flicks I've mentioned above were timely, informative and believable for viewers who aren't too squeamish or otherwise reluctant to take a look.
Also saw "Crazy, Stupid, Love," a clever, quirky, romantic dramedy:

Films of this genre certainly aren't for everyone either, but I found this particular offering to be well-acted, funny and entertaining throughout and even fairly believable until these movie makers chose their way to tie everything together in the end.
"A Lot Like Love" was good too.

Ashton Kutcher's acting was better than tolerable and Amanda Peet has never looked better.
Overall, these two seriocomedies compare well with "(500) Days of Summer," "Friends With Benefits," "The Kids Are All Right" and "It's Complicated," IMHO.
