....and thought Best Actress nominee Anne Hathaway was very good in this slice of life movie.
The Link
I'm not surprised, she was good in "The Devil Wears Prada," "Brokeback Mountain" and "Havoc" while playing adult roles that required acting talent.
I look forward to seeing her in future films.
Ann Hathaway has depth and range: she was a great princess in earlier films and I think she could play Amy Winehouse with a little make up help and fewer teeth.
This wasn't a very pleasant movie to watch, but all the acting in the main roles was very good
I'll claim that watching this realistic and often depressing film, about a dysfunctional family successfully celebrating an eclectic wedding, completely leveled my marriage movie karma out after viewing "Mama Mia," which involved a mostly over the top, festive nuptial celebration such as Club Med might have planned and hosted during the the disco era.
I'll recommend "Rachel Getting Married" to anyone who wants to see it; but, for me, the good acting far, far, far outshone the storyline and the rest of director Jonathan Demme's movie making in this cinematic offering.
