Decent acting, good special effects, an interesting (but not a particularly new) storyline and I was well-entertained.
Joseph Gordon-Levitt, Bruce Willis, Emily Blunt, Jeff Daniels, Paul Dano, Piper Perabo and other thespians were certainly thespy enough and fun to watch in this movie that initially reminded me of a grittier, but less stylized, "Blade Runner" but then generally became more generic to the overall genre.
Writer/Director Rian Johnson did keep things enigmatic and pretty exciting, but I doubt whether many who've seen it once will need to see it again.
As the highlight of this flick, I thought Pierce Gagnon who played Cid, was exceptional in perhaps the best child role since Haley Joel Osment saw all those dead people in "The Sixth Sense."
I don't know how easily young Gagnon put together his IMO memorable performance or how many takes it took or how much editing the final cut required, but the range, depth and believability which I saw from him on screen was mesmerizing and far exceeded anything I remember from his peers in any similar portrayal for a very long time.
Recommended for fans of sci fi action thrillers and those folks looking for a more than serviceable movie rental to view at home now that its theatrical release is about over.
