.....and I enjoyed it.

The Link

I thought this film about a puzzle was more cryptic than "The Da Vinci Code" and I liked it better than the recent reimagining of "The Day the Earth Stood Still" or the "National Treasure" films.

I found it had much in common, good and bad, with other Nicholas Cage movies and other Hollywood sci fi offerings.

I like Nicholas Cage and I like sci fi movies.

And I think this flick is worth seeing, if you appreciate Cage and enjoy this genre.

If you don't, I advise you to not expect anything different or more than that here.

IMHO, it's a well made retelling of previously used cinematic material, borrowing and assembling the entirety of its storyline from various other screenplays, old and new.

That might lessen this flick for many viewers.

It didn't spoil it for me, however.

On its own merit as a sci fi film, I found this one to be entertaining.

Others may see it as overly derivative and shop worn.

So, if your knowing my opinion about "Knowing," lets you know anything you needed to know before you go, let me know.

Because that's all I'm trying to accomplish here by posting my thoughts.

SPOILERS

I thought the plane crash and the subway car crash were incredibly realistic. **** the plane crash gave me the creeps and chills because it reminded me of the Delta crash at DFW Airport in 1985 I had just passed that area on Hwy 114....good God that was scary.

I saw it. Drank a Diet Coke and ate some popcorn. It was all right. I whiled away a couple of hours on an otherwise boring Saturday afternoon.
