......and found it interesting, but not that worthwhile a movie, IMHO.

I guess the Coen Brothers wanted to portray that beautiful music can be made by an unbeautiful person.
Heck, I thought Bob Dylan proved that pretty well when he lived in Greenwich Village.
Dylan was certainly powerful, provocative and very persistent, but neither his appearance nor his life nor his voice was ever very pretty.
The beauty was in his words.
Or show that meaningful music could come from a meaningless person.
In this flick, Llewyn Davis is not beautiful and his life is mostly meaningless.
I found his persona unlikable and his music didn't impress me that much either.
So while I appreciated the direction, the acting, the cinematography and what I saw as the premise of this film, I didn't like the movie very much.
As an experienced, gigging musician, I could relate to the challenges Llewyn faced and the struggles he fought.
I've been there and done that.....
But I never, ever, rooted for Llewyn Davis and I wouldn't have had the patience to make music with him for very long.
In this film, neither his career nor his life went anywhere worthwhile and I was happy to walk out at the end after 104 minutes without spending any more time with him.
I wanted to see all the Oscar nominated movies for this year, but other than accomplishing that goal I could've skipped this one.
For me, watching Jeff Bridges' fine performance as Bad Blake in "Crazy Heart" and that film itself, despite its being formulaic, predictable and at times a bit unbelievable, was movie time much better spent by me.
Or seeing the fascinating New Orleans musical scene as dramatized in "Treme" on TV.
If you enjoyed this Coen brothers' offering, that's cool and I'm glad you did.
I probably just wasn't in their target audience for "Inside Llewyn Davis."
JMO.
