...... and found it enjoyable and well made.
The Link
Although over three hours long including the previews, the pace moved along briskly enough and this flick kept my interest.
I found that having the young actors show their physical and mental growth naturally over 12 years of film making to be effective and worthwhile but, for me, that innovation in cinematic storytelling was the most notable thing about this tale of the life of a young boy/man and, by way of inclusion, his family.
While both this filming technique and his life saga each proved to be engaging, the technique itself grabbed and held my interest first and the strongest.
It was all very believable, realistic and well portrayed, but in my final evaluation this was not an atypical or particularly remarkable young life up to age 18.
Perhaps this actually is the message: That nature and nurture usually can only prepare (or cripple) you for the coming time when you must take over and live your own life.
Duh.
Recommended for anybody who wants to see it.
IMO, due to its length, could work as a rental.
