Kind of a mashup in my mind of "Bridget Jones's Dairy" and "Alfie" which really doesn't have that much in common with either of those flicks except being again a London setting wherein a naive British bird and a lousy cad have an affair leading to her disillusion, regret and comeuppance but possibly a more experienced, happy future.

Miss Mulligan is excellent as a modern (1960s), but more misguided, "My Fair Lady" without a chaperone.

Alfred Molina, who I discovered was born in working class London of a Spanish father and trained in Great Britain's Royal National Theater, is memorable here as her father after being Spiderman II's Doc Ock.

Saw it tonight. Thought is was very fine. The girl in the lead is good as is everyone else. I loved that the perspectives were not cut and dried nor were they simple. As the story and relationship go on, every character gets their third dimension.

And it's a good story. Loved the look and design of the movie as well. I can't imagine someone seeing this movie and not liking it.
