......and thought it was decent.

However, I had hoped for more with this cast.

The Link

I liked the actors and their acting was fine, but found the screenplay here not up to what they needed for their efforts.

So, I walked out afterwards thinking it could of, should of, would of been better, if the storyline had been clearer, less mysterious and more defined.

Great cast and interesting performances, but the lackluster, needy (IMHO) script held this one back for me.

Still worth at least a rental, I think, for fans of the genre and of these movie makers.

Robert De Niro shines in an uncredited role.

Your thoughts?

I saw it last night Fred. I had almost the exact same thoughts you did. It was a little more humorous than I thought it would be. Acting was very good - can't even imagine this was the same Christian Bale in American Psycho - but I kept waiting for more to develop within the plot. But overall a good movie, one I'll watch again when it comes to cable but won't pay at the box office again for it.

It was a decent movie overall and had some good acting. Christian Bale can without a doubt play any type of part. But the best performances came from the ladies and the soundtrack was the best part of the movie to me.

I. Was disappointed. It was too slow to develop and I was left with no peaking point. I kept wondering when it's gonna be over and that's not a good thing.

I found the movie entertaining. Love getting another look at the cars, hairstyles and dancing during that bygone era. The music was fun too.

I felt the same way as the OP. If you're a Christian Bale fan, go sees Out of the Furnace. The movie is just okay, but he is exceptional. There is one scene in particular, on a bridge, that will absolutely rip your heart out.
