Saw Alien Versus Predator: Requiem last night.

Thought it kicked ***. There wasn't any mercy for the women and children in this movie either. Kind of surprised me. Definitely the best movie since Predator and Aliens.

every time i saw a commercial for this movie opening christmas day, i asked myself what kind of person would be there to see it on christmas.

the kind of person who goes to strip clubs on christmas night? hey . . . they are the only thing open. .. but i can't wait to watch avp2 this weekend! i figure if i go in expecting poo, it'll be ok, at least worth the entertainment. for me, the key to these types of movies is to lowball it, hollywood needs to make dough, they can't all strive for No Country For old men .. .

Yes, nancys and ferries will not enjoy this movie. This movie is for men; men who like movies like Bloodsport and Red Dawn.

I don't know - since having a kid, I can't watch a movie that I know has explicit violence towards children. I'd be curious to get a poll of the movie opinion from people that have children vs. the ones that don't.

It's just as they said. I've a relative who went and saw this today...women, children and hospital patients (as well as some scruffy teenagers) are not spared.

The first alien victims are a hunter and his son.

The predator only ("only") kills three humans in this movie and at least two of those are by accident. He's there to dispatch the aliens. Apparently he has some different weaponry (blue, very powerful acid; metallic whip; laser spikes that stick to the wall and envelop the would be victim in a "cage" of sorts) that was interesting.

I think showing kids getting iced is over the line. One can only imagine what would happen of GTA included child pedestrians. I think the outcry from the general populace would be immense.

Having said that, I will happily watch it whenever it meanders over to DVD.
