……via NETFLIX and found it to be excellent.
It got 85% on Rotten Tomatoes.

It’s a quirky and gritty, subtitled, Norwegian deadpan dramatic comedy covering relationships and crime with a good eclectic, but understated, musical soundtrack including
“Me and Mrs. Jones by Billy Paul, “I Fall To Pieces” and “Crazy” by Patsy Cline, “A Land Down Under” from Men At Work, two Chrissie Hynde and The Pretenders
songs, a Joe Tex oldie plus another by Merrilee Rush and a rhythmic jazz version of Tchaikovsky’s “Dance of the Sugar Plum Fairy” from his “Nutcracker Suite” performed by Klazz Brothers and Cuban Percussion.
Fine acting acting, led by Stellan Skarsgard, good production design, excellent cinematography, a clever script and cogent direction all distinguish this 2010 flick, IMHO.
I’ll recommend this film for both its gentle and dark humor, its intelligent dialog and the realism.
There’s a little bit of male and female frontal and backal nudity and some well-depicted, varied fornication.
I’d rate this movie right up there with “Pulp Fiction” for a different take on crime and interpersonal relationships and with the best of Woody Allen for the interesting characters and their growth.
Also could be favorably compared with “In Bruges” or a favorite Coen Brothers film.
High praise, I do realize.
The only downer for me was having to read the subtitles which had to sometimes take your eyes off the thespians’ movement and expression.
I liked this one from the very start (and even more when I watched it again later with my wife), but even if it begins too strangely offbeat or slowly for you, I believe you just might find it a winner in the final analysis.
Not for bluenoses who are very easily offended or who rigorously advocate and require a strict moral code in their cinema.
And not for viewers who favor constant violent action over generous character development.
It was right down our alley.
And I offer it to anyone who has an interest after reading my review.
