Simialar if not equal amounts of Bisquick, ground sausage and cheese (longhorn, monterrey jack, colby).
Roll into balls and put on a cookie sheet in a 350 degree oven until brown. It's that easy...
Mix all ingredients in large bowl using hands to knead it together. Shape mixture into one inch balls. Place on ungreased jelly roll pan. (The pan must have edge all the way around it, or you will have a BIG greasy mess that may catch fire in the oven.)
Bake until brown, about 20 to 25 minutes. Makes about 8 ½ dozen appetizers.
If you have a kitchen-aid mixer with the paddle, you can use it to mix the dough. Saves a lot of time.
(BTW, the bit about a "greasy mess" that can catch fire is a note from my mom. Gotta love it.)
My great Aunt Martha solved the greasy mess problem by browning the sausage in a skillet first, then draining off the excess grease. Just tear it into small pieces with the spatula as it sizzles, drain, & let it cool for a couple of minutes before mixing it in with the Bisquick and cheese.
Classic tailgate fare.
Add a cup of coffee and call it brunch.
