Good dramatized documentary (of sorts). Really good casting. The tension is there from the start, and you're cheering for Lorne Michaels to pull it off as the NBC Network corporate guys almost nix the show time-after-time until the last second.
Spoiler immediately below
I think it was the rolling-on-the-floor laughter of the execs as Garrett Morris sang: "I'm gonna get me a shotgun and kill all the Whiteys" in his trained operatic voice over and over minutes before the show went on air that swayed NBC to go live. Morris saved the franchise.
End of Spoiler
I've heard that plenty of actors disliked Chevy Chase, but I didn't realize just how bad it really was. I find him funny, in his movies, on early SNL, and in this show.
Milton Berle wouldn't last long in show business in the Me Too era....... I guess he'd have to be a porn star or something.
