Heading there in 3 weeks for some southern hemisphere skiing! Looking for dining/bars advice.....

I liked Santiago a great deal. I went w/ the wife's mba program and most of my trip was of the guided tour variety so I don't have specific restaurant recommendations but we stayed in the Providencia area and there are a lot of good places around there. Be sure to check out a traditional steak place - they're kind of like the Brazillian churrascarias in that it's all you can eat steak. Also, if you drink alcohol be sure to try a pisco sour or two before your meal - it's a shot that's kind of like their national drink and is pretty good.

Where are you going to be skiing? I've been by the Hotel Portillo in the summertime and that area is pretty impressive.

A couple friends of mine recently moved there to do mission work for a year.

They seem to really enjoy it.
