We are going to San Juan in 10 days and would like to do some deep sea fishing for marlin, dorado, etc. and also go fishing for peacock bass. Does anyone know any good charters down there? We are staying at the Marriot Isla Verde resort. We plan on spending a day at the El Yunque rainforest, but thats about all we have planned besides fishing, so I am open to all suggestions. Thanks.

Went there in June. I would suggest spending a day or half in Old San Juan. A lot of cool shops and some good eats down there. The condado area has a cool nightlife as well. If you gamble, I'd hit up El San Juan hotel, nice casino and has a band that plays right in the entrance area that is a makeshift club/bar area. I think the Marriot does as well but not sure if it's isla verde or the Marriott in the Condado. I've also heard the Bacardi factory is pretty cool to check out but we never made it.

Here is the main thing you need to know about that rain forest...TAKE AN EFF LOAD OF OFF. There are like 900quadzillion mosquitos in that place.

We went in June. It was an amazing trip. I can't help w/ re: to the fishing.

We spent 3 days in Culebra which was just breath taking. The most beautiful beaches I've ever seen and I've been all over the Carribean. Old San Juan is worth a day. El Yunque was very cool if you enjoy hiking.

We stayed at a small little 'boutique' hotel on El Condado for the mainland part of the trip. Isla Verde is right down the street and about 2 minutes from the airport. Isla Verde seemed very touristy, but that isn't necessarily a bad thing.
