San Antonio Madison sophomore Aaron Green rushed for 428 yards and 9 touchdowns in a 69-56 win over Kerrville Tivy last night.

He is only 15 years old.

He is the cousin of Gary Green Jr., the son of former Baylor standout Tony Green, and the nephew of four-time NFL pro-bowler Gary Green, Sr.

Nine TD's is a San Antonio record.

Also, on Wednesday night, Green and his brother Andrew, who plays safety for the Mavericks, were involved in a very serious car crash that totaled the car they were riding in.

I think you guys agree that he looks good in burnt orange and white:

Obviously a fantastic performance.
A game like that, against this level of competition, at age 15? Just amazing. Would love to see a post from anyone who may have attended the game.

Tivy is not small potatoes, guys. They were 10-2 last year and area finalists and they returned their entire backfield that combined for over 4,631 yards of offense and 60 TDs.

This kid must be pretty good.

I'm sure most of you saw the commercial last night, but SA Madison @ New Braunfels is on FSN next Thurs night.

Oh hell yea, that's my school, class of 87.
GO Mavs

BTW they have a hell of a receiver that will be getting all kinds of attention next year. I'm not sure if he is still there but Gary Green was at one time an assistant there. Madison is putting together a hell of a legacy of great backs.
Unreal game footage from KSAT 12

Was any defense being played in that game? Not sure he was even touched in most of the TD runs we saw from that video. I saw nice vision and cut back ability, but couldn't get a feel for his speed or power. He looked smallish for a RB, but that is understandable for being 15. He must have shown coaches something, b/c I'm sure that team has other capable JR and/or SR RBs. Will be fun to watch him on TV next week.

9 TDs? that's ridiculous at any level.

i would tell my dad about this, but then he'll spend the next hour telling me about the time Warren McVea and Brackenridge played Linus Baer and SA Lee in Alamo Stadium.

He is listed at about 5'9 or 5'10 179 still has lots of room and time to grow. Being related to Gary Green one of the all time fastest in the history of the NFL I tend to think he has some damn good genetics.

They also have a junior receiver who is pretty special his last name is Askew.

Madison plays New Braunfels this week.

It will be fun to see Green take on Wort, Bordano, Garmmetbauer and company.

I wonder how much gas Streety has in the tank? He got to Madison the year I graduated ('91), and I wish like hell he had come sooner. The head coach we had was teh suck. He came from New Braunfels, in fact, and I think he still lives there.

Should be an interesting game.

Another Madison grad from the illustrious class of '85. Played on the '84 team that went to state semis. Was there a coach between Rodrique and Streety? I thought Rodrique only stayed aroiund a couple of years before going to Temple (?), but it's possible he stayed around longer. Now the athletic director at Smithson Valley I believe, or maybe Comal Cty. They had a nice writeup on him before the Madison-Smithson Valley playoff game last year, which compared the '07 squad to Rodrique's '84 team.

Nice to see another Maverick do well!

Well Frank you and I were teammates I was on the JV on that 84 team so we probably ran into each other a few times. I was a JV Nose guard and DT. What position did you play. Drop me a PM. Yes there was a coach between Roderique and Streety he came in after the 88 season. I don't remember his name but as I understand it he stunk to high heaven.

Madison grad here, too. '91. Rodrique's last season was 1987. The next guy was Mark Saunders, and his last season was in 1990. Saunders came from Burkburnet, I think -- in any case somewhere from up around the metroplex. I think he and Bea Devlin got along really well, from what I understood

. He was incredibly inept, but there were a couple of good coaches on staff.

Mark Smith was the OL coach (my position) and he went on to coach the OL at Midland Lee during Cedric's great run out there.

Gary Olivo was OC, and he went on to be head coach at Grapevine for awhile.

Coach Swenson became a head coch at a Baytown school. His son played on my teams -- he had a gag reflex and every time he put his mouthpiece in he would throw up. That happened a lot. He had an older son who walked on at Notre Dame.

We had some very talented guys on my team. I think my senior season was the first year where three teams made playoffs. We were the third, and we made it in with a losing record. There were all kinds of slanderous articles about us as a result, and we sorta used that as fuel for the fire. We beat New Braunfels in the first round, then beat Sam Houston in one of the more incredible high school games I have ever seen. It was before sudden death OT, so we got to the end of the game with the score tied. After score comes penetrations, which were also tied, After penetrations came first downs, and we got the last one to win the game with less than 30 seconds on the clock.

The Koy Detmer annihilated us. Our district is traditionally a run-first district, so none of us had ever seen a QB like that. Ty Detmer arrived in a limo and got to see his little brother destroy us.

So our run was over, just like that. There was a lot of grousing about what could have been, and Coach Saunders got shitcanned that Spring. None of us were sorry to see him go, let me tell you.

Frank and Wasatch, I have an older brother who graduated in '88 and was team captain in '87. I was a captain in '90. I remember that playoff run in 84-85 very well. Denial at the hands of Beaumont French and then the Cash twins, Johnny Walker, and Wilbur Odem. The City Championship against Judson in Alamo Stadium. Orange Crush. Lots of fun.

Wow Aaron Green continues to impress tonight vs Johnson he rushed 9 times for 190 yards and 3 TDs. He probably would have gotten more rushes but it was a complete blowout.

This kid is absolutely amazing.

He's good. Especially for a sophomore. I'm not sold on "amazing" just yet, though. Johnson is horrible, new program and all.

I thought last week was a better indicator, frankly. This kid made the corner a few times against New Braunfels and came up with hard yards on the outside against Wort and co. Inside was another story, but most of that has to do with Madison's OL, which appears to lack size and experience.

Were you there tonight? I went. I think Madison continues to do well in the SA area. They have really small lines, though, on offense and defense. I love their back seven on D, and I think there are probably not too many teams out there in 5A who have a better secondary than Madison does. They'll beat the hell out of just about anyone after the catch, thats for sure.

The Aaron Green Watch continues

Today against district rival San Antonio McArthur he ran 24 times for 174 yards and caught 3 passes for 46 more and a score. Did I mention he also tossed a TD in this game.

Madison won 47 to 28 to stay undefeated.

Were going to learn a lot about Mr Aaron Green today as SA Madison goes up against Smithson Valley. This should be one heck of a showdown.

Anyone out there going to the game please give us a update.
