Samsung Instinct

Just got mine today. How many of you have this phone, and what do you think about it? In the little time I have messed with it I am happy so far. I know there are many differences between the instinct and the Iphone and G1, but for the price and the data plan I just couldnt resist.

I like it. If I had AT&T, I would definitely have the iPhone. But, I didn't want to cancel my contract, then buy the iPhone and start a new service.

It has its pros and cons just like any other phone, I guess. It's biggest gripe right now is the lack of apps like the G1 and iPhone, but supposedly those are coming.

We shall see.

same reason I got one, great cost and I didn't want to switch to at&t. the browser blows, the screen scratches easily, but other than that it's ok. That's good to hear about the new apps coming out..

I've had mine since July & have generally been really pleased. yeah, the browser sucks but the software updates seem to be improving some of the glitches it was plagued with earlier. it's a pretty versatile phone for the price & the fact it ships w/ 2 easy to swap batteries is a very nice feature.

Since September...The only disappointments, so far, are the browser(which has gotten better) and the camera functions. Zoom after the fact is OK, but not great and the fact that you are limited on rotating the pictures...and there is no flash. Of course, the camera is just a little plaything.

All in all, I've been very pleased. I have a five phone plan which costs me $20.00 a month more than my previous plan, but provides all phones with all of the bells and whistles...which it did not, before.

I think they are automatic, but not sure. Sometimes when I go to the Web or even to my address book, a box will pop up that says "Updating Files". I think you could call Sprint Customer Service and find out. *2

So far, I really like this phone. The price wasn't too bad and the sprint everything plan I have is pretty cheap.

My favorite part of the phone actually is the Sprint Navigation feature along with the Live Search feature. I've used this so much and it is works pretty well.

If you get one, I'd suggest to get a clear plastic cover for the screen. It peels off like a sticker and has saved my screen many times.

The camera is okay. I like that I can record stuff. I'm easily amused so have had some fun with the feature.

Sometimes it does freeze up, but it doesn't happen too often. Great phone for the price and also glad to hear more apps are coming.
