AT&T is selling refurbs for $40.Are they completely horrible?

I use phones for calls, about 200 texts a month and internet browsing. I don't use the synching capabilities or any of the Office package. It seems that this phone will work nicely for me.

The baby-momma has one and she loves it, but my very Tech savvy buddy hates it and is trying to get me to spend $350 on a Tilt, which I think is way more phone than I need.

I had 2 blackjacks. The first was recalled for an antenna problem. The replacement worked for a few weeks and then had the same reception problems. Mt wife's 20$ Nokia has 5 bars at our house and the blackjack had no service.

I complained and AT&T sent me a blackberry curve yesterday. I would steer clear of the blackjack.

I have a friend who has one. I dont like it - don't like the form factor, the full keyboard, the menus, and the accessory selection.

The Blackjack II is going for $99 which has some good upgrades over the older model. I've had mine for a month now and has been great!

My battery was pretty miserable at first but after I let the battery die and go through a full cycle I've had great life. Today is my third day without a charge and I'm constantly on the Internet and emailing. The only thing that drains my battery is the GPS.
