Sam's Club rolling out Grey Goose knockoff

Vodka is a strange drink, taste speaking.

Some claim to be able to tell the difference while in truth I doubt they can. They taste what they want to taste, what their mind tells them to taste, not what's actually there.

There was a taste test a few years ago and Smirnoff won.

Vodka, like wine, tastes better if it's more expensive, if the brand is hip, popular. It's marketing driven.

Perham,

I can tell the difference between XO, Smirnoff, Goose, Zubrowka and Stoli Elit in a blind taste test. Easily.

Grey Goose was purely a marketing invention.

The company owner came up with the name first, then the bottle, and last but not least found a vodka to put in there.

He was the same guy who brought Jägermeister to the U.S masses.

FWIW... I'm pretty sure that Sam's can't sell their own brand of alcohol without violating state law.... In fact, I'm pretty sure that Costco has already had to stop selling some of their Kirkland products.

Costco is currently selling their own branded wines, as of the last time I was there which was about a week ago. Doubt they'd be doing that in violation of any state laws.

i remember a really interesting mythbusters where they did all sorts of filter manipulation to arrive at different levels of purification and quality and the expert nailed it from least filtered (lowest quality) to purest. he got it exactly right and i think there were like 7 of them. obviously, some people know.
