Samples commits to Ok State

ESPN has reported that Ra'Shaad Samples has verbally committed to Oklahome State. Rivals confirms this. This gives Ok St three 4 Star receivers out of Texas (Marcell Ateman, Fred Ross & Samples).


Also on ESPN, UT commit WR Jacorey Warrick looked pretty good during the 7on7 tournament in Oregon.

Right now OSU has an edge in recruiting WRs. All they really have to sell them on is being the next Justin Blackmon and before that, Dez Bryant. So I can't blame the young man and wish him well.

Thanks Swoggler... I saw that on Sat. eve while watching some of "The Opening" stuff and plain forgot to post it here... I guess I didn't think it was that big of an announcement!

Fyi... Samples was the kid at the 1st Junior Day, back in late Feb./early March that was the silent commit I mentioned... and like the Texas staff tells all the kids, they tell them to go home & think about it, talk w/ your parents and then commit! Well he never committed after getting home... then was given a time window and then his 'ship was given to Jacorey Warrick. So he had the chance & didn't pull the trigger and Texas moved on... then he goes & breaks his ankle again! He was up in Oregon at 'The Opening' comp. and was limping so I'm not so sure this will be a miss by Texas or not... we'll see! All the best to Rashaad... the really funny thing in all of this is that Aggy thought they really had a chance at this kid!! I mean that's two in a row that aggy thought they were going to get!!! (the other being Daeshon Hall who decommitted, then committed the next day to Washington)... oh well, you win some & lose a LOT at least for aggy!!

I didn't know the details on Samples and his offer but felt it had been a missed opportunity and UT had moved on. I have no problem with Warrick as an able alternative. He sure looked like he was adept at finding the open spots in the defense.
