Sam post-game comment

Hey guys, it ain't that bad. Only three things need to be fixed:
1. We just need to play better.
2. We need more clapping on the sideline.
3. We need go the field scared to death.
Do those things and we will be fine, I promise.

No buyouts in this state. Could relieve him of being coach but still have to pay his salary until / unless he gets another job.

so his inflated salary plus another coach would be high $$$$

I played golf.
I got 9 holes in then we were watching aggy game before heading home for Tennessee family cookout for their game. When I learned Sam was bringing them back at the end, I tuned in and watched the rest.

I was very proud of Sam, but sorry to see them lose in the end. TH has crapped the bed with a dream situation. That is no team. Watching players get beat, then get up and Johnny Jolly was sickening.

I went in to the 19th hole as it was in the 3rd OT. Walked back outside and didn't watch a single play.

Herman will be back next season. Unless reaaallyy deep pockets insist, it’s a realllyyy bad financial move.

There are some realllyyy deep pockets at Texas but I fear they will not waste their money unless the entire University system acknowledges the mistakes they made. I fear we are at the last crossroad for many many miles ahead.

Sam is sorta an enigma. You love his moxie and leadership and even his production, but, he is not a pure quarterback. I can't wait till we get that pure quarterback either in Card or Ewers.
Maybe that is one of the answers.
At the same time though we need difference making o-linemen to lead the way. I fear there is just too much negativity to recruit effectively.

Sam is a warrior and a true leader. I admire him for speaking out about the team. He deserves better. So do many of his teammates. Focus, unity and discipline comes from the top, that means coaching. What was the focus of this team during the off season and to some extent still today? Dare I say it? What are the causes of some of the division? Dare I suggest it? What happens when an authority figure doesn't exercise authority that sets team above self boundaries for one and all? Dare I mention why that might happen?

What makes you think they will stay around for this s##t show if Herman is still here. Sam might even transfer to have a good year with another team. I wouldn’t blame him. Herman ruined his lifelong dream.

After the game, Sam was the ONLY player who stayed to sing "The Eyes"

CDC did not hire Herman. CDC built a lot of programs at TCU successfully.

Yep! I would like to be in the room when CDC has his weekly talk with TH. What I've see this season so far, none of it is good. We could easily be 1-3 at this point. And the whole team, except for Sam, jogged off to the dressing room. Where is TH and the rest of his band of bandits...I mean coaches?

I hope Stearns toe feels better. Recd a text that he sat out because of a sore toe. Poor fella. Same text said other safeties went off the field late in the game. Wouldn't want to make Stearns play hurt or anything

I didn't say he hired Herman. I have also said a place like TCU seems to be more of his wheel house than Texas. Do you think building programs at TCU is the same as building them at Texas?

What, pray tell, is he doing to build the football, volleyball, and soccer programs

I, personally, would like to see Sam move on, either entering the draft or going to another team. A new/different college team may benefit Sam in several ways.
I am ready to see what someone else can do with this team. Maybe a diamond in the rough will emerge. It's happened before in college football. Sam has played his heart out. He has done about as good as he could do. It's just time.
As I have said many times I would like to see more of Thompson and Card come into the game even in the first half, especially now that we have two conference losses. It's transition time.
Also, on another note, why haven't we let Rochon throw a half back pass? He is a bonafied QB and can probably throw a lead pass to someone or a throwback pass to Sam in the flat.

I think any player who plays this year gets an extra year of eligibility. So Sam could come back, but why?

if his draft stock isn’t high, he should transfer to a school that will help him develop and win a championship.

It's my understanding that anyone playing this season is entitled another season if they so choose. Another words this season doesn't count against eligibility. Am I right?

Agree that at this point give Josh some playing time. Not replacing Sam but beginning to design for next year. I personally would enjoy watching Sam another year but not sure it’s in his best interest, particularly when I consider who we will potentially lose.

This is one of the things I really love about Sam. Dude bleeds orange. Win or lose. He cannot single handed my win the game...it takes an entire team.
ESPN tweeted something about Sam yesterday afternoon: “How it started” then “how it’s going”. I don’t notice they call out any SEC players for something they said months ago. oh I forgot, they kiss SECs ***. I get some gooner saying that...but ESPN??

Dunno. But last I heard, volleyball and soccer is doing pretty well...
