They put Arias on the DL - phantom injury? - so that will probably be the offset to adding Harden to the roster. Was wondering how they were going to do that.

Actually I think that was a nice thing to do for Arias. He's been a Ranger Minor League Lifer and has added to the team this year. Blanco is probably the better fielder and that's what's needed at this point. Glad to know that Arias will still be in the dugout.

Sad that Salty didn't work out for the Rangers. He was the centerpiece in the Teixeira trade - but I think we should still be happy with the results from Andrus, Feliz, and Matt Harrison. There was also a minor league pitcher (Beau Jones?) in that trade, and we haven't heard from him yet.

I suppose this means that the Rangers still look to Taylor as the catcher of the future. Hope he figures out how to hit major league pitching pretty quickly - you'd think Molina is a one-season stopgap.

Saltalamachhia's problem the last month is that he hasn't been hitting. He hit like crazy when he went down, then couldn't throw and now he can't hit. I think that is the reason you never saw him back in the bigs and eventually got traded.

Well, that and the fact that he couldn't throw the ball back to the pitcher.

speaking of the minors, Smoak was sent down to AAA Tacoma friday night...wasn't that long ago people in this town were singing his praises
