Salt Lake City or Portland, OR Hiking

I'm thinking about going to the Salt Lake City or Portland, OR area for the first time during the summer. I'm looking for some suggestions on hiking areas. Ability level, I'm comfortable doing intermediate/advance trail at high altitude. I've done several 14ers in Colorado this year. I'm looking for some beautiful, and at times challenging hikes.

Any recommendations for either of these places would be great. If I go to Salt Lake City, I'm thinking of basing myself outside of Park City.
