They may ultimately succumb to Villanova, but these guys are fun to watch. It's amazing what you can accomplish with well coached, fundamentally sound players.

They have guys that understand basketball.
It's funny really when this Samhan guy is probably the most dominant player in the whole freaking tournament.
He's really just a mediocre player, but he is smart and understand the game of basketball. It's amazing that this is all it takes in this day and age of college basketball.

They are also very unselfish.

They have certanly missed some open looks they were making in the 1st half, but still in it under 3 min..

Saint Mary's is:
-- a group of over-achievers
-- a team that plays with a high basketball I.Q.
-- a good free-throw shooting team
-- well-coached
-- unselfish and well-disciplined
-- a confident basketball team

In other words, they are the exact opposite of the 2009-10 Longhorn basketball team. Baylor is going to have their hands full.

'Nova was playing on borrowed time anyway. Robert Morris should have beat them on Thursday. But I do like the Gaels, they remind me of a tall Princeton.

And by Gaels you don't mean Iona.

They are really good and fun to watch. Another really good team I was impressed with is Maryland. They showed so much teamwork last night moving the ball, playing defense, hitting shots, really a planned offense that unforturnately we didn't see any of that lately. Great teamwork. Go Gaels, go Terps.

Hook'em!!!!

I was thinking the same thing as the OP. I wonder if any of their starters would have gotten a schollie offer from UT. I doubt it. this is a great example of chemistry, coaching and a little luck.

Man that team can pass the ball. Those entry passes to their big man were a thing of beauty. Good sound fundamental bsktball. And I'm so glad those other Cinderella boys beat Kansas.
