I had the Winter Stout. It was damn good.
According to Brock Wagner, the owner, we drank it all PDQ.
The good news is, production at St. Arnold is up 30% in January.

St. Arnold's Brewing on Saturdays at 1pm - 3pm only $5.

Yes, that means you have to come to Houston to experience this. Who'd a thunk Houston could create such fine brew???

the spring bock is definitely not my favorite. i guess you have to be in the right mood.

winter stout, however... mmmmmmmmm

Does anyone know where I can get Divine Reserve in Dallas? I've heard great things about it on here and I really want to try it.

Never had the bock but Elissa is definitely my favorite.

I like that microbreweries are making seasonal brews. That's the way it should be.

When people ask me- "What's your favorite beer?"

I don't have a single answer. It depends on the time of year, what food I'll be eating with it, whether there will be food at all, what time of day, is it post exercise/surfing/soccer... I'm not a "One Beer Fits All" kind of guy and I think traditionally beers weren't like that. Me gusta variety. Me gustan seasonal beers.

OK, who took the last six-pack-HEB at Parmer and IH-35 was out last night. Of course, there were about 500 guys with exactly the same thing in their grocery basket-one six-pack of beer, one bouquet of flowers, one greeting card, and one box of candy.
Maybe there will be some more Spring Bock soon.

accurate - wish I could say it was me but they were out when I stopped there Saturday. I picked up 2 sixers + one of Anchor Bock, the last two bottles of Ayinger Oktoberfests (hope they haven't skunked yet), and 2 bottles of Ayinger Ur- Weisse at Central Market last night.

I didn't have the flowers but did get the chocolate covered strawberries along with a steak and scallops, white asparagus, some good cheese, and heirloom tomatoes for the wife tonight. I'll enjoy one of those beers while grilling tonight.

Spring Bock is one of my favorites. It makes a really great beer braut. I have some Divine Reserve 4 and 5 still in my fridge. anyone else going on the st arnolds cruise in 2 weeks?

St. Arnold's is greatness and anyone that lives in Houston and likes beer and hasn't been on their Saturday tour needs to go, IMHO.

I need to head to Hosuton for this. When I was at UT, we used to go to the Celis Brewery pretty much every Friday for a "tour."
