This really shows the strength of the Big 12. The Horns come in at #35, with the 4th strongest schedule in the country. 9 of 10 Big 12 programs are ranked inside the top 43! And 6 of the top schedules, and 7 of the top 11 are from the Big 12. Pretty amazing when you think about it.

This also shows the Horns playing 22 games this year against teams inside the RPI top 50, with a record of 4-5 against those in the top 25 (exact same record vs. the top 25 as #6 Tennessee). And as someone pointed out in another post, we're the only team among the large group vying for those final at-large invites to have two wins vs. the RPI top 10.

One other note. In the 'Big 12 NCAA Invites' thread Outlook mentioned 16 teams vying for a possible 13 spots in the NCAA field. Of those 16, the Horns have the 5th best RPI. Even more interesting is that, of the five teams Outlook felt were in for sure, one (Middle Tennessee) has the lowest RPI of all 16 teams - #67 - all of the others are inside the top 50, although quite a few are just barely there. And the program that has the highest RPI of all 16, WVU at #17, has two losses to teams outside the top 100. Fascinating stuff but so far, of all three RPI's I've seen, things look good for the Horns. But that's based only on the numbers as I have zero knowledge of how all of this might be impacted by various conference tournaments currently underway. Hopefully Outlook can post an update once the league tournies are complete.
