Awesome trade for the Brewers and for MLB. Nice to see some new blood in the mix at the trading deadline.

The only top prospect the Brewers reportedly give up is Matt LaPorta.

as a Cubs fan, i never got my hopes up too much on CC because of the brewers better farm system, but i'm kinda miffed to see that they didn't have to give up that much. granted laPorta is a good one, but the rest isn't quite the haul i thought the tribe would be getting.

either way, looks like the brewcrew will replace the cards as the cubbies' biggest threat in the central sooner than expected. should be a fun 2nd half

If I am the Brewers and I have not been to the playoffs since 1982 then i am more than willing to give up my best prospect for CC. The man won the Cy Young last year and is a very good pitcher. The Brewers are already pretty good and I am not sure if they can resign Sheets over the winter, so put it all in and go for it this year.

This is brewer's one shot at this. They will be losing CC and Sheets this offseason and will be trading Prince in the next few years bc they know they have no chance at resigning him long term down the road.
