S. Padre for a weekend with the family

I'd like to drive to South Padre Island with the family for the labor day weekend. I'd like to find a place to stay that hopefully has a kitchenette so that we can cook some of our meals if we want to. I'm not interested in luxury and I'm not a millionaire. Any recommendations?
