Rush have extended their Snakes & Arrows tour into summer of '08 with the idea of adding some dates to places they haven't played in awhile, as well as the bigger cities/venues they usually hit. Fortunately for Rush fans here in central Texas, Austin one of the cities announced today. I'm still waiting for a response regarding presale/general onsale date for this show. Here are some other Texas dates, as well as an OKC date for those in north Texas wanting to make the drive.

4/20 Houston Woodlands
4/23 Austin FEC
4/25 Dallas Smirnoff
4/26 Oklahoma City Ford Center

For those not able to catch any of the shows from the '07 leg of this tour and also cannot make it this year, the band did record a couple of the final shows on the European leg of the tour for a live DVD.

RUSH IS RIGHT!!!!!

I really wish they would stop playing in The Woodlands and actually play in Houston (Toyota Center or even better, a smaller venue). And it always seems to be during the week. This time it isn't much better (Sunday night).

Anyway, thanks for the heads up.

Ugh. Last time I saw Rush at the Erwin Center (1994ish) the sound was just absolutely horrible. I believe it was the tour where Candlebox opened for them, and they sounded just fine. But the mix on Rush was so bad that it literally hurt my ears. I left after 3 or 4 songs, I just couldn't take it anymore.

In fact, that's the last time I heard ANY band play at FEC. Since then I've stuck to outdoor venues, or much smaller indoor venues.

They are completely changing the set list according to their website. Rush fan sites are drooling over rumors that they are going to do "something special," which many people seem to think will be a performance of "Moving Pictures" in its entirety.

Yeah, "The Camera Eye" live at last. I can die happy if this rumor is true!

I was at that FEC show in 94, and I also remember their being a lot of problems during the show.

The video didn't always sync up, they missed some cues, and Geddy even flubbed the lyrics on one of the songs.

Worst show I have ever seen them play. I haven't seen them play since, but that is more due to circumstance than anything else.

I am going to do my damndest to see them this time around...

A presale for the show at The Woodlands just started on Ticketmaster.

It is an AMEX presale and you have to have an AMEX as your default TM credit card.
