'Rurnt' car finish...

Not that Bob

...at least that's the way my ex mother-in-law said the word "ruined." Anyhow, I left the car under a pecan tree for a couple of days. Squirrels were evidently having a taste testing of the new crop and dropped half eaten green pecans on the finish. Nasty! I got most of the black/brown/green marks off with wax and elbow grease, but the finish still has a "shadow" or "ghost" where the spots were. '04 Volvo, I suppose it's clear coat. Any ideas appreciated...I mean ideas other than "Don't leave your car under a pecan tree."

- if the paint is rough on the spots, start with detailing clay bar
- car polish will probably be the best to remove "dead paint" though.
- if neither of those work, then try rubbing compound on the serious spots.

that's about all you can do.
