While Parker / Manu / VC / Duncan sounds like an unstoppable foursome, I don't think I like this trade.
The Spurs problem last year seemed to be a lack of clutch outside shooting. I think Roger Mason and Matt Bonner have really fixed that. The thing is the Spurs aren't quite as strong on defense as last year. Getting Carter, who's pretty lazy on D, is only going to exacerbate this. Losing Bowen will exacerbate it too - his minutes are pretty limited now but I think the 10-20 minutes a game he'll spend during the playoffs is going to be crucial for SA - for example, IMO they lose to New Orleans last year without him locking down Peja.
Now obviously Vince is a better scorer than Roger Mason, but Mason's been great in his role and I don't know if you want to mess with that chemistry. There's a reason the Spurs have recent championships and the Suns don't, and I'm worried this trade would just turn SA into the Phoenix teams that the Spurs are 12-4 against.
