Rumor: USC Sanchez carted off field

Sorry but nice try. When people think of good schools, yours is not on the list, not even close. Mchigan is class, yours is ***. Be proud of the team you root for, you should. Just realize your place. You are aggy to Michigan and in the eyes of everybody else.

You will find that UT and UM are in the same realm or tier in academics and prestige. Nice try. I don't expect you to or your kind to accept fact nor your place in all of this.

This is too easy. It almost writes itself. This thread is also just about done.

buckhorn and shark, I think part of the reason people see tOSU as being "the best team in a slow conference" is that tOSU hasn't impressed the way USC has outside of the conference over the past few years. It's true that USC plays close/embarrassing games within the Pac-10 (stanford, ucla in 06, the year they lost to Cal as their only loss) but they seem to turn it up a notch in bowl games and OOC games (Illinois last year, beatdown of OU, classic game against the Horns in '05). I know Ohio St. beat Texas in 06, but I don't think anyone was all that impressed with UT in 06, and, outside of that game, I think people perceive Ohio St. as being the opposite of USC - fairly consistent in dominating their conference, and then losing and even getting blown out by the best of other conferences. You're not going to get away from that skepticism unless Ohio St. puts up a good fight against USC this year or wins a bowl against an elite team from another conference.

Unfairly people are looking down on the Big Televen as being a not so powerful conference lately. Michigan not doing that well, Wisconsin having some pains, Penn St. being wishy-washy, etc.. But this is unfair because short of USC, there are no consistent power teams in the Pac-10.

Ohio State may peak early like OU seems to and then flounders later on. Ohio State for sure has some fast talent on their team with Ginn Jr. being amongst the fastest in the entire country. Gonzalez was a fast mofo too, just to name two.

But for some reason they have been getting handled in the final games. It will be interesting to see how quick either team comes out of the gate when they play in a few weeks. It will be a very hyped, very watched game.

The Big X as slow is hardly a new canard. It is less true today, especially of tOSU, than ever before.

USC does not always beat down a conference's best (Illinois and Michigan were each runner-ups the last times that USC played them), The Big Ten generally holds it own against the SEC (especially noteworthy as the games are almost all Jan. 1 or later, the higher seed is usually the SEC, and tOSU, the conference's most consistent winner, has a dreadful record), and the star power out of Columbus is second to none. It is just one of those myths that is blown up by any info that supports it (while missing any that refutes it).

No matter what tOSU does (beat USC, win the NC) this myth will persist as myths do.

Shark 4 - I am not going to get into any smack, as I truly respect your school and athletics. Ohioans love their football and athletics.

But I have to tell you how I got giggley at your post regarding UM and their cheating. You see, between OU and aggy, those transgressions (albeit the one with the fab 5 is pretty bad) pale in comparison to the decades of cheating these programs have enjoyed. Hell, check out the post here...

THis is aTM's former coach, Jackie Sherrill making a thread on texags. Mind you, he was directly responisble for 3 of the 7 major infractions aggy has had. Look at how they gush over this cheater, you can almost see the misty eyes... They don't even realize how they should be ashamed of the 5+ years he bought players Trans Ams and fed ex'd envelopesfull of money to athletes that slept in a trailer for work. They embrace him because he beat us, but still made some of the dumbest mistakes in coaching history (see the Cal game in 83', tie game vs. SMU in an undefeated year)

The Sooners? I'm sure I don't even have to go into that.

And besides these two, consider that we have battled recruits with SMU (death Penalty and 8 major infractions) as well as Baylor (6 major infractions) as well as other SWC foes that cost us how many potential wins? Think about it... if we weren't surrounded by cheaters, is it safe to say we would have several more MNC"s? Could we possibly even be neck and neck with your rival Michigan for most all time wins?

Honestly, it would probably look a lot more like our record and accomplishments in baseball.

Anyone who calls Michigan "classy" clearly doesn't follow Big Ten athletics.

Michigan has been caught cheating REPEATEDLY in the past 20 years, and this cheating has directly lead to actual INDICTMENTS and has erased entire seasons off the books.

And if you've actually interacted with UM fans in Ann Arbor, they definitely do not qualify as 'classy'. Case in point was their classy fan base littering the field with debris after the 2006 Notre Dame home loss and actually hitting some of their recruits who were on visits that day.

I recognize the typical Horn fan has only dealt with UM in Rose Bowl game that UT won......and are comparing this experience to a bad experience in C-Bus.....but you are kidding yourself if you think Michigan is 'classy'.

And this level of alleged classiness is going to nosedive under DickRoad b/c he's proven himself to be a Grade A prick.
