Rumor: Cowboys interested in Simms

No kidding Sig. I was gonna make a crack about Chris never "winning" in Big D, or however the joke went but won't now. He played his heart out at UT and in the bigs and deserves every chance he gets. I hope he goes to the Cowboys. They were on of his favorite teams, being Aikman was one of his childhood faves.
 
I'm all for it at the right price. I really don't see why the Bucs are keeping him on the roster and taking up valuable cap space with his significantly sized contract.

A 2nd day pick in next year's draft should be enough to secure him I would think.

It would be nice to have a young guy in there that is capable of pushing Romo and not some over-the-hill guy who we all know can't carry Romo's jock.
 
By the time Simms makes it, #31 will either be gone or riding the bench. I'll take the underrated Simms with heart over the pos, overrated, crybaby Williams any day of the week.
 
I think Simms will love to see #31 across the line of scrimage during practice. Then he'll know which receiver will be open on the play.
 
I thought I heard this rumor on the radio, but I was half asleep and thought maybe I dreamed it. It would make me happy if this were to really happen.
 
Chris did make a lot of bone-headed throws in his time at Texas and this is a Texas message board. I know it makes people feel good defending Chris but lay off. It was was very rational statement.

That said, Chris has had some badass moments in the league and shown the guts we all knew he had. A potential starter as a backup beats a has-been any day.
 
Hopefully Wade Phillips won't yank Romo midseason in favor of Simms when we ALL know it should be Romo starting instead of Simms!
