I remember the 50 million pound bid a month or so ago.

this is closer to 86 million pounds.

I'm just not sure Torres would be worth it, however, he'd be hard pressed to find a midfield that could feed him the ball as well as Ballack, Deco and Lampard could.

With the owner of Chelsea not having his governor responsibilities anymore, he may be deciding to just buy him self a winner.

we'll see how it works.

I'd like a combination of Arsenals academy system and buying everything in sight like Chelsea is doing.

Whether there is a salary cap in a sport or not....I think paying as much money as Chelsea and the Yankees do that even when you win, the championship is diminished. As you said...Arsenal can be proud of their excellent academy rather than the deep pockets of an owner. That is one of the reasons I became an Arsenal fan and can't stand Chelsea (I can't stand Man U. more...But thats for other reasons)
