Rules Question, Self Pass?

Hey guys, had a quick rules question. I was playing a pick-up game today and the man I was defending lost his dribble. I guarded him close for a few seconds with his back to me, then intentionally dropped the ball on my foot, picked it up and started dribbling again. Now I don't see how this could be legal, constituting a self pass or dd but nobody wanted to back me up so I come to hornfans for satisfaction or humility. Is this legal?

i don't know about streetball rules, but in most organized bball rules, there would have been a whistle when the ball hits your foot. His team would get the ball out of bounds, with a shotclock reset. It's a cheap move, in my mind, like intentional fouling, or throwing the ball off a guy, as you are falling out of bounds.

If a foot is on the ground and the ball comes in contact with the foot, there is no violation. Play continues unabated, unless the foot is not connected to a leg, at which point something needs to be done.

If you were really whining about it, the streetball solution is to check it up top. If you still whined about it, maybe, just maybe you could shoot for ball. But I doubt it.

It honestly took me at least 10 times re-reading this thread to realize that the guy you were defending was the one who dropped it onto your foot.

I was absolutely dumbfounded why you would intentionally drop the ball on your OWN foot, and even more dumbfounded that everyone else in here seemed to have the rules down pat for bouncing the ball off of your own foot.
