Was on HDNET movies last night and I got to thinking
1) They make a big deal about the NCAA only allowing 60 players to dress, but they have 85 sholarships. Is that an old rule that was changed? I know we dress way more than 85 these days, and did in '89 when my then roommate was a walk-on. He didn't get to dress every game (he was a freshman), but did some. And, I believe the policy at the time was that upperclassmen walk-ons dressed for every home game. Road games were completely different, with the travel squad being much more limited.
2) Rudy's last practice/game. He had only been at ND for 2 years, so didn't he have 2 years of eligibility left? Also, he had to get into ND as a junior, b/c ND doesn't accept senior transfers (according to the movie), but couldn't he just switch majors an be a junior in something?
I know it's a movie, but I've been thinking about that.
BTW, I don't think the answer is "Because he was inverted"..
