Now that is interesting. He made $750 this year from the Cubs. I wonder if he has ever considered Recruiting? For about 15% of what he made this year?

Rudy is exactly who I thought of as a dream hitting couch at UT, but the money difference between Tommy's $175K and Rudy's $750K+ salary looks insurmountable.

Also, the Cubs fired Rudy because irreconcilable difference over Rudy’s aggressive hitting strategy and Theo’s on-base-percentage strategy. I’m thinking that Augie’s small ball strategy would have similarly irreconcilable differences with Rudy.

More realistically, I’m thinking a younger, hungrier guy from an on-base-percentage strategy team-possibly minor league rather than college. I don’t know what they pay minor league hitting coaches, but I’m thinking we could be competitive with AA and below.
